Yacht Docs LLC began in 1997 as Hulsey & Hulsey boat washing. A simple name for two simple, inexperienced brothers; Jacob, age 16 and myself, Joshua, age 13, who agreed that a little hard work after school, plus falling off a boat occasionally, fighting spiders, pollen, and frozen mops was worth it to make a wage for all those meaningless things kids can’t seem to live with out. As we grew older ,I could FINALLY get behind the wheel, legally, and Jacob, in the midst of his prime High School days as an upper classman, decided manual labor was not really his forte. I was left holding the reigns with all seven customers on board based out of Millcreek and Grand pappy Point Marina on Lake Texoma. With a mop, broom, and bag of towels permanently planted in the bed of my truck, the lake became a second home, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. Five years later as a freshman in college with a customer base of approximately 15, it was time to get a little more serious in the realm of business. Hulsey & Hulsey became Lake Texoma Yacht Docs, and with the change came the expansion to Highport Marina in 2005. The new atmosphere brought about a great deal of opportunity in the form of customer base, service provisions, and friends. Each year brings about new ideas, great opportunities, and additional growth as Yacht Docs LLC now serves numerous marinas across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Over the years Yacht Docs has accrued what I would consider to be the most “Legit” customer base on the water. These customers know what they want, they know Yacht Docs is the team to provide it, and they are as appreciative for our services as we are for their business. A special thanks to our incredible staff, Dock ZM, The TPBC, All of X Dock, Mr. Randy Cooper who definitely needs to get a bigger boat, The Cree’s of “Creeola” for making a huge introduction, The Hepner’s, The Rass’s, Mr. Zucherbrow, Larry and Jana Bishop, The hard working women of Highport Marina, Marine Max, and most importantly the Lord’s blessings in allowing all of this to take place. These customers, business associates, and friends have helped push me through college earning a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, get this company to the level it is today. We will continue pushing to determine just how far the simple concept of boat cleaning can and will go. |
